Feedback from Past EXOS Experiences

"I’ve attended 4 EXOS weekends since 2014. Each time I learned so much from the invited presenters, as well as from the participants. I as a chiropractor learned that I could do so much better than provide just passive care, that I could make a real difference in my patients’ life by coaching them to a more active lifestyle. Through the inspiration I got through these weekends, and the FPM community, my practice style changed over the years to a more patient-centered care. I’m very grateful that this kind of program with its community exist, and I can highly recommend it to everyone who wants to become the best healthcare provider they can be.“

"The FPM Lab immersion in Phoenix, Arizona at the Exos facility was my first in-person experience. Can't say enough about the expertise, value and insights provide by all the speakers. Highly recommend it, for the quality of the content, the real life applications, the amazing coaches, and state of the art facility."

"Over the years I have attended numerous EXOS programs and I have found every one of them to be a unique and powerful learning experience. Craig consistently brings in an impressive array of cutting edge presenters from the training and rehab world, and the attendees are always a nice mix of professionals and students from around the world. All of the workshops are a balanced blend of lectures and hands-on learning, with the workouts held in an incredible state-of-the-art facility. I have left each time renewed and inspired!"

"A weekend I will never forget. I was able to re-unite with friends and connect w/ Craig and the team!

The human body is a fascinating thing and we can never learn enough about it. Mindblown. Never stop learning."

"Epic weekend at EXOS. Every time this community comes together, special things happen. Grateful to be able to learn from such passionate professionals."

"Amazing weekend in Arizona for the annual Symposium at EXOS!!! So much great information and such a great group! Thank you."

Key Takeaways

What You Will Learn

This will be a special event, marking over 19 YEARS of bringing together some of the most caring and knowledgeable professionals in the industry to level up together. Celebrating 19 years of EXOS is monumental, and seeing the growth in this industry in the past 19 years lit a spark for what we want to share with YOU: How far we've come in the rehab and training spaces in the past 19 years, and how we can collectively continue to move the needle toward changing healthcare - for patients/clients AND providers.

You CAN be successful AND provide quality, person-centered healthcare and fitness. Learn how to build your dream practice from us - Craig Liebenson, Ryan Chow, Donald Mull, and Katie Dabrowski - who have done it all over the country in the most competitive markets of Miami, NYC, LA, and San Diego. In an industry where provider burnout, patients given underdosed and low level rehab experiences, and the separation of training and rehab are the norm, we want to show you how it doesn't have to be.

Being confident helping complex cases takes a ton of practice. This is your opportunity to learn directly from our playbook, in person, during this 3-day experience. Our goal is to show you how limitless client and patient care is when you  focus on listening to the person's story, learn about their current capacities and tolerances, learn about the capacities and tolerances required for what they need to do on the field and in their life, and address the gaps between the two. The freedom of escaping diagnosis-driven care is what it's all about.

We are also honored to have Coach Jonas Dodoo as our featured speaker to teach us his guiding principles on speed, change of direction, and application tools to a spectrum of clientele. And as a guest of our weekend of growth, exploring movement, and diving into how to make our industry better, lunch will be provided.

We are able to expose people to their abilities to do more than they ever thought possible - instead of parroting societal ideas of hurt = harm, aging and physical decline are inevitable and there's nothing you can do about it, bodies break down and are fragile, etc. We have a playbook and principles to guide us with any person who walks in our door - care is not diagnosis driven, but human-centric.

Basic themes this weekend: How can we build greater tolerance to valued activities? What is the role of graded exposures (especially to feared stimuli)?

FPM’s Precision Program on Days 2 & 3 will be all interactive to address these 12 discussion areas related to your environment & the population you serve.

  1. How to address people’s desire to know the cause of their pain.
  2. How to address people’s expectations for passive care/recovery work or feeling that they are too sensitive to exercise
  3. How to build trust through relatedness in goal setting – ie achieving “sense making” & an infinite game mindset
  4. How to create a checklist for a screen of fundamental movement literacies from which to determine a safe starting point for exercise
  5. How to build a resilient mindset for addressing lifestyle pain triggers that predispose, precipitate, & perpetuate pain
  6. How to link strength training to an individual’s Key Performance Indicators for the activities they value (eg their identity)
  7. How to utilize trainable menus of basic training elements to find each person’s sweet zone for recoverable adaptation
  8. How to support the process of behavior change through flare-ups & plateaus by focusing on landmarks over timelines.
  9. How to create sustainable consistency with physical activity through nudges, community, debriefs, etc.
  10. Learn how to tie different systems & methods together efficiently.
  11. Observe case studies followed by Interactive discussion & problem-solving for your population.

  12. Make training fun: How to hide “the skill in the drill” – gamification & the ecological approach.

Our Goal

What does FPM add to the Health & Fitness space?

Our aim at FPM is to help people see that we all have to train for the game.

We’re older younger because we are inactive. The silver lining of MSK pain is learning we’re bioplastic – we adapt. With exposure to appropriate stress stimuli, adaptation occurs resulting in increased tolerance and greater resilience.
“It’s not the load that breaks us down, but the load we’re not prepared for” – Tim Gabbett.

This is why we teach that “rehab is training in the presence of injury” – Phil Glasgow

Testimonials

Feedback from Other FPM Lab Immersions

"Spent the weekend collaborating with amazing clinicians and coaches. Thank you for exceeding expectations with this weekend.

This weekend emphasized that patient care is centered on the individual in front of you, promotes resiliency instead of fragility, is positive and encouraging, appropriately loads instead of under-doses movement, and dispels nocebos that create fear of movement."

"I think one important concept you two both do so well and that is integrated throughout the coursework is giving the tools to make collaborating with a coach as a clinician or with a clinician as a coach a much easier process.

The content and community fosters an environment where collaboration is encouraged at the benefit of the client. The process of the profile and the power of the audit process and history taking in the BPS lens provides everyone with a universal language with the 4 principles of reassurance, reactivation, adaptation, variability as the North Star."

"This is my third FPM seminar, and I always learn SO many new concepts and skills each time that I can immediately put into practice.

It’s invigorating to be in a room with so many other coaches and clinicians (trainers, PTs, chiros, massage therapists, movement specialists ect) who all share the common goals"

"I've had 25 sessions in the past two days and the energy that I've brought to those sessions has been categorically different compared to sessions prior to this course and mentorship. 'You already have the skillset. Now learn the mindset'"

"I had so much fun last weekend and came back so fired up and ready to roll on Monday. I so very much appreciate coming back and feeling rejuvenated and ready to Implement things I’ve learned!

I feel like I learned a lot about figuring out the difference between rep maxes, reps in reserve, and RPE. Because I don’t have an actual training background, these things are really useful to me. In addition, watching you and Ryan in action taking clients through with external cuing and putting them in the environment really helps me to learn and retain how to do it with my own patients. That’s what really puts it together for me.

I can’t wait to come to another seminar.

Thanks for relighting my fire! 🙏🏼🔥"
